Real, Wisconsiny Maple Syrup

Our friends at Cedar Lane Maple gave us a jar of their syrup to try, and we were blown away. Just a couple tablespoons on our favorite waffles alongside fresh cantaloupe, and we were hooked. So we want to offer up this perfect pantry item to our Farm Share members too! Here’s a bit of background on their syrup: Did you know it takes about 40 gallons of maple sap to produce one gallon of pure maple syrup? Producing pure maple syrup involves science and hard work but to us it is also a labor of love. We marvel every season at what nature provides without a single preservative, flavoring or other additive. Cedar Lane Maple Syrup is 100% pure maple syrup made by our family in small batches from the maple tree groves on our Germantown, Wisconsin farmette. The flavor is deep, rich and perfect for pancakes (of course!) but also great for glazes, marinades, vinaigrettes, and even cocktails. We have limited quantities available. So scoop them up. 32 oz. bottle is $15.00 and a 12 oz. bottle is $7.50. They’ll be available as an “add-on” in the Farm Share order form. Not in the Farm Share but still want to order? Shoot us an email happydayfarmhaus@gmail.com.

If you’re like us, you’ve canned a bunch of farm goods this year and are planning on packaging up as presents for friends and family. We’re going to adding a few local syrup bottles into the mix too, because how often do you find Wisconsin-grown-and-made maple syrup!? As we head into the final weeks of the season, add a little fall to your HDFH salads with this vinaigrette recipe: Simple Maple Vinaigrette Serving suggestion: The PERFECT companion for Happy Day Farmhaus arugula or salad mix!
